Destini
A few years ago, our founder’s niece, Destini (5), was placed on the incorrect school bus on two separate occasions. One of those times, Toni, Destini’s grandmother, sat waiting for her to arrive. As time passed, Toni’s anxiety, frustration and fear began to grow. Toni attempted to contact the school’s transportation department 30 minutes past the time Destini should have arrived, but the offices were closed for the day. It took 45 mins to locate Destini. It’s our goal to prevent other parents and children from experiencing this trauma.
Like many of these incidents, Destini’s experience was not reported. You will not find it in a press release, news article, or police report. However, the danger Destini faced and the emotional trauma her family experienced was very real.
